On May 9, 2023, the “Snow Award” ceremony, an occasion where the Ski Association of Japan (SAJ) honors athletes who achieved excellent results during the season, was held at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel in Tokyo. And Tsubaki Miki, alpine snowboarder who belongs to Cataler, won the Most Valuable Player Award (MVP) (※).

This award was in recognition for her taking the first gold medal as a Japanese athlete in women’s Parallel Giant Slalom at the FIS Snowboard World Championships in February. This is the third successive season that Tsubaki has been awarded at the Snow Award ceremony, following the Next Hero-Heroine Award in 2021 and the Outstanding Player Award in 2022.

Cataler will continue to support the athletes in Shizuoka Prefectue, who are competing around the world, from various angles.

■Next Hero-Heroine Award Winner

Tsubaki Miki (at 19), alpine snowboarder who belongs to Cataler, won the MVP award! This is the third successive season that Tsubaki has been awarded at the Snow Award ceremony, following the Next Hero-Heroine Award in 2021 and the Outstanding Player Award in 2022.

On November 14, 2022, the “FY2022 Deming Prize” awards ceremony was held at Keidanren Kaikan in Otemachi, Tokyo. The Deming Prize is an award to be given to a private organization or an individual that has contributed to the advancement of TQM (Total Quality Management)(※).

Cataler China (科特拉［無錫］汽車環保科技有限公司) becomes the second company within the CATALER Group to receive a Deming Prize, following our (CAC’s) receiving the Deming Prize in 2015 as well as our winning the Deming Grand Prize in 2018.

Even after the awarding of this prize, the company will continuously make efforts to promote TQM. We look forward to your continuing support.

On May 26, 2022, the “72nd Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan Award Ceremony” was held by the Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan. “Practical application and high functionality of highly heat-resistant pyrochlore type CeO2-ZrO2 oxygen storage material” written by Takuya Okuda (Basic Technology Development Department) who belonging to our R & D Division received the Technical Paper Award. It was highly evaluated that the technology of pyrochlore type CeO2-ZrO2 material would contribute to the development of the automobile field, and it was the first time for us, Cataler, to receive a Technical Paper Award.

 

The authors focused on the pyrochlore structure CeO2-ZrO2, which is characterized by “slower and higher capacity” oxygen storage characteristics than before and worked on the development of this material and the practical application of catalysts using it.
In particular, the following three issues, “high temperature heat resistance (derived from the crystal structure of the metastable phase)”, “performance in the low temperature range”, and “improvement of responsiveness to gas atmosphere” have been improved over three generations. This has contributed to the expansion of applicable models and the global expansion of vehicles with low environmental impact.

It is also highly evaluated that it contributed to reducing the amount of precious metals used as a benefit of higher performance.

On March 9, 2022, we received the Quality Control Excellence Award from Toyota Motor Corporation.

 

This is the third consecutive year that we have received the award.

 

We received the award for our zero delivery defects and continuous stable supply of non-defective products.

 

It was highly evaluated that the company contributed to the improvement of vehicle quality by pursuing the root cause of defects in the process and expanding countermeasures globally at an early stage, and by taking the initiative of the head office to establish countermeasures at each base.

 

On November 10, 2021, we received the “Quality Excellence Award” from SUBARU Corporation for the first time in recognition of its product performance and mass production quality.

The award ceremony was originally scheduled to be held in this May, but it was postponed due to the Corona disaster, and it was held online with the participation of only the award-winning companies.

 

We are very pleased to receive this award for the first time since the start of transactions in 2001.

On September 9, we received the “Excellent Performance Award” and “Commodity Leader Award for Engine” from the SUBARU of INDIANA AUTOMOTIVE (SIA).

We have been receiving various awards from SIA since 2013 so we will continue to work together as a whole company of CATALER North America Corporation and aim to continue to receive awards.

 

 

On June 9, 2021, Catalyst Manufacturers Association Japan Reiwa 3rd Year Award Ceremony and Commemorative Lecture were held online, and our “High-efficiency fuel cell catalyst for automobiles” received the “Technology Award of Reiwa 3rd Year Catalyst Industry Association”.

This award recognizes the development of an efficient catalyst that improves FCV performance by arranging precious metals in carbon pores using a unique coating technology for fuel cell catalysts for FCVs.

 

On May 27, 2021, we received the Regional Award for Quality Excellence from Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. This award recognizes the continuous stable supply of non-defective products at the head office factory located in Kakegawa City. This was the first award because it has cleared all the award criteria such as 0 special complaints for 5 consecutive years and 0ppm for delivery defect rate for 5 consecutive years.

On April 27, 2021, PT. Astra Daihatsu Motor (abbreviation/ADM) held a Virtual Supplier Awarding2021, and Cataler Indonesia (PT. CATALER INDONESIA: abbreviation/CIC) received the “Superior Quality &Delivery” – 2nd Tier.
